Downtown Issaquah Wine Walk inaugural event a huge success

Beautiful weather and the opportunity to drink some tasty local wines, hear some great music and experience fabulous art happenings brought out the crowds last Friday night for the inaugural Downtown Issaquah Wine Walk. Issaquah Wine Walk is a new First Friday evening event this winter in Downtown Issaquah that is fun and supports the community. Enjoy live music, art happenings and wines from small, local boutique wineries poured in various designated tasting locations up and down Front Street. All ages welcome. A portion of the proceeds benefit the Downtown Issaquah Association (DIA) and valued non-profit partners. Stay tuned for March music guests, wineries and art happenings.

Why I love Issaquah in the Fall

With a backdrop of three gorgeous mountains (“The Issaquah Alps”) sprinkled with red and yellow leaves and a dusting of snow, Issaquah is a alive in the Fall and beckons visitors to explore the great northwest from our “Basecamp”. Catch a late-arriving Salmon, winding its way up Issaquah creek. Warm yourself by the outdoor fire at the new Wildfin Bistro on Gilman Blvd. Head up to the Pass or Crystal Mountain to try some early winter skiing or snowboarding, and then head back to town for a nice micro-brew at Issaquah Rogue Brewhouse in downtown Issaquah.

Have Kids? There are plenty of things to do in Issaquah for kids of all ages this Fall. At the Issaquah Community Center, they offer everything from open gym basketball to yoga stretch classes for kids and there are even activities for toddlers! For some outdoor fun – take the family hiking along any of Issaquah’s many treasured hiking trails, the Burke Gilman Trail is definitely a local favorite. However, if there’s one thing to do in the Fall in Issaquah that kids will love, it’s seeing the salmon swimming within all of the many creeks in town. The salmon come to spawn in the streams in Issaquah each Fall, where they were originally born, so this is a ‘must see’ for kids and adults alike and something that you will only see in Issaquah!
